In the Apostle Paul's ministries, he often called himself a "Father" to those who he had brought to faith in Jesus Christ. From the churches he founded, to the individuals he mentored these became his sons and daughters in the Lord. As a Father in the faith what did he do for the well being of his children? We find from this passage what he did and what all of us who are fathers should be doing _ PRAYING!

1) Understanding our God
              A. Very God- Himself the God
              B. Of Peace

2)  Understanding our Specialness
               A. Sanctify - Set apart
               B. Wholly - All the parts that make up the whole

3) Understanding our protection
                A. Myself - Whole body, soul, and whole spirit.
                     I. Ideas
                        ~ Dichotomy - man made up of two components; body, soul/spirit
                        ~ Trichotomy - man made up of three components; body, soul, spirit
               
                B. Preserved blameless - To be Acquitted

4) Understanding our future
                He is coming again

5) Understanding our God
                 A. Faithful - He is trustworthy, He can be counted on
                 B. Calls us - To be saved, To be set apart, To pray
                 C. He will do it
