John the Baptist is in prison after about 18 months of very public ministry. He has been in prison for possibly a year because of his rebuke of Herod. He is wondering if Jesus is the Messiah that he had been proclaiming. Jesus sends word back to John what his disciples had just witnessed and heard. The question John had should be the most important question that anyone has this side of eternity. How does Jesus continue to answer John’s question in the presence of all the people?
