God alone can take us there, but the chariot in which He takes us up and the fiery steeds that pull the chariot, are prevailing prayers.” – Charles Spurgeon Thursday, June 13th – Star Wars RPG – 5:00 pm-10:00 pm. The offering from last week of $3,643.68 was posted to the General Fund. “He Knows My Name” by Tommy Walker Tommy Walker was asked by his pastor to write a song to go along with his sermon entitled “He Knows My Name.” As the song progressed, Tommy Walker had thoughts that it was one of the worst songs he’d ever written. But in obedience to God, he finished it. “The inspiring part of the story is the testimonies of people all over the world that have been touched by my feeble little act of finishing what I started. I’ve had the privilege of telling forgotten people in many parts of the world, both rich and poor, that God knows them and is calling their name, and what a privilege it has been. I recently re-recorded this latest version with producer Ed Cash. We purposely put children’s voices on the new bridge because it echoes the sound of Jerry (a 7 year old orphan Tommy met in the Philippines) and the millions of forgotten children in the world who are not forgotten by God! In the end I turned the song into a prayer saying let the abandoned, nameless, friendless and forgotten say . . . He knows my name! There is nothing more powerful than to know and declare that the God of heaven knows us and loves us.” |
